Implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICDs) are small electronic devices designed to prevent death due to life-threatening abnormal heart rhythms. Our cardiac electrophysiologist will explain how these life-saving devices work, and discuss recent advances in ICD technology to control irregular heartbeats and prevent sudden cardiac arrest.
