REGISTER AT SAGE FOR TAX HELP

On Thursdays beginning February 18th through April 15th, SAGE Eldercare, 290 Broad Street, Summit, NJ, will host trained volunteer tax preparers. Tax preparers are trained by the IRS through the AARP Tax Aide program.
The AARP Free Income Tax Assistance service is available to all taxpayers with middle or low income, with special attention given to people who are age 60 and older. The tax program is offered to all area residents.
Registration for this service is required. Taxpayers should bring a copy of their 2008 Federal and State income tax returns; their 2009 income tax packets; their November 2009 real estate tax bill; Federal information forms for 2009 (W-2 forms; SSA 1099 form; 1099s for interest; dividends and other income, 1099 for pension, annuity and IRA distribution; 1099 B forms for assets sold during the year; receipts or cancelled checks if itemizing deductions; and Social Security numbers for dependents.
