About Us

Established in 1965, Community Nursery School offers quality care for children ages three through five years of age, of all faiths, and from all communities! From it's begining Community Nursery School has emphasized the physical, mental, and emotional development of the child in an atmosphere of mutual respect, affection and sharing. The school has implemented over the years many teachings and activites to nuture within our children high self-esteem and concern for others as well as a love of learning and a respect for all forms of life.

Each classroom has a state certified teacher along with one or two assistants, and we strive to keep our staff-to-child ratio well below the state requirements.. Each staff member also continues their education and training by undergoing hours of additional training each and every year.

After warm hugs and a kiss goodbye, we begin with an educational and fun filled "Cicle Time." This includes number and letter recognition, calendar review, weather, attendance, special jobs and so much more! The remainder of our day is filled with arts and crafts, learning activites, music, story time, outdoor play on our playground, free play, and snack time.

During the year we go on many class trips. Fall trips include visiting pumpkin patches for a hayride, apple cider and picking that perfect pumpkin, and spring tops our children choose a place of their choosing. After the school year ends we also offer a 1-2 week Summer Fun Program, where the children enjoy some "fun" time and creative "summer fun" and "wet" outdoor activities with teachers and classmates!
